Speculation swirled after model Hailey Baldwin was spotted with a huge diamond on her ring finger over the weekend, and now the rumors have been confirmed. The 21-year-old is engaged to Justin Bieber, the 24-year-old pop star has revealed. The Canadian singer got down on one knee during a trip to the Bahamas over the weekend, and on Monday took to Instagram to share his happy news.
“Was going to wait a while to say anything but word travels fast,” Bieber captioned a black-and-white shot of him and his new fiancée. “Hailey, I am so in love with everything about you! So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you, loving you patiently and kindly. I promise to lead our family with honor and integrity.” The Sorry singer added that “everything seems to make sense” with the model, telling his 101 million followers that he “can’t wait for the best season of life yet”. “My heart is completely and fully yours and I will always put you first! You are the love of my life Hailey Baldwin and I wouldn’t want to spend it with anybody else. You make me so much better and we compliment each other so well.”
Baldwin also confirmed the news, writing on Twitter: “Not sure what I did in life to deserve such happiness… No words could ever express my gratitude.” The pair was first introduced by the model’s father, actor Stephen Baldwin, back in 2011, when they were just teens. They dated in 2016, before restarting their relationship this summer. Baldwin opened up about their rekindled romance in May, telling The Times the two had been “friends for a long time”.
“I met him when I was really young and he was one of my best friends. Everybody knows that at a certain point in time that turned into something else, but that just happens when you’re 18, 19. It was what it was. We went through a long period of time when we weren’t friends. We didn’t speak for quite some time and there was a lot of weirdness that went on.
