Julia Roberts Looks Every Inch the Pretty Woman in Riccardo Tisci’s New Burberry

Julia Roberts has been in the Riccardo Tisci fan club for quite some time now. She starred in his Spring 2015 Givenchy campaign and has since loyally worn his designs, both on the streets and the red carpet. Now, the original pretty woman is standing by her fashion man once again in the middle of his epic career shift. Yesterday in London, Roberts attended an event to promote her new Amazon series Homecoming dressed in a lovely beige and white pleated skirt with a sheer top, as well as a matching blazer and square-toe heels—all of which came straight from the runway of Tisci’s Spring 2019 Burberry debut. She, along with Rihanna and Madonna, is one of the first major stars to be seen wearing the revamped label out in the wild. “The one and only Julia,” Tisci captioned his Instagram photo of her. “Looking so beautiful in @burberry #kingdom.”

Tisci named his collection Kingdom, which alludes to a mash-up of British lifestyle ideals, the monarchy, and the history behind the country’s homegrown fashion. The outfit Roberts wore belonged to the “refined” category, which featured simple, monochrome styling and ladylike silhouettes. Think pencil skirts and silk blouses, bourgeois tailoring, and, of course, the famous Burberry trench. Roberts, whose fashion outlook seems to tip toward minimalism and ease, is the perfect star to pull off this sophisticated vibe for the house. In Tisci’s new kingdom, it seems, Roberts is still a reigning queen.
