The fifth Vogue Arabia cover star, for the July/August issue, is supermodel Jourdan Dunn photographed by Cüneyt Akeroğlu and styled by Konca Aykan. With her long-standing heritage as an international Vogue model (she’s appeared on 12 covers) and after a stellar appearance on the Cannes Film Festival 2017 red carpet wearing Elie Saab, the British model is the perfect face for the summer issue – especially considering her off-duty guise as an advocate for Arab design talent and her style file brimming with Zuhair Murad couture.
The Vogue team took to Turkey to shoot the story “Meet Me in Istanbul” in the 17th century Ottoman landmark Çırağan Palace. Come rain or shine – and it did indeed pour down – Istanbul proved to be an evocative backdrop for the shoot. On the pages, the Pre-Fall and Fall 2017 designer collections are reinterpreted with a signature flair of Arabian elegance. “Did you see the sunshine yesterday? What happened?” Jourdan Dunn proclaimed as she sauntered into the hotel suite in a short dress and black leather Gucci mules. She burst out laughing – a loud, staggered hoot. The June/July issue of Vogue Arabia is out on July 3, 2017 across the GCC region and internationally in the key fashion capitals.
