Not long after walking the Fall 2017 Couture runway for Zuhair Murad, Joana Sanz paced down the aisle in a custom-made wedding gown by the Lebanese couturier. The Spanish model tied the knot with Brazilian soccer star Dani Alves in a secret Ibiza wedding earlier this month. The couple, who got engaged in 2015, celebrated their nuptials in an intimate, romantic ceremony on the Spanish island, surrounded by a few family members and close friends.
The 23-year-old bride, who has fronted campaigns for a number of high-end brands including Jimmy Choo, opted for a fairytale wedding gown. The chiffon dress featured long sleeves coupled with a shimmering lace bodice, embellished with crystals and flower appliqués. It was paired with a sheer, floor-trailing veil for an enchanting touch.
Sanz joins the growing lineup of brides looking to Lebanese designers for their fantasy wedding gowns. Vogue Arabia reported on the wedding of Prince Ernst August of Hanover’s eldest son, Prince Ernst August Jr, to Russian fashion designer of catsuit brand Ekat, Ekaterina Malysheva. She commissioned her long-time friend, Lebanese designer Sandra Mansour, to create three dresses for her special day.
