As one of the world’s most in-demand models, Joan Smalls is used to posing against a multitude of backdrops, but this week the star was “rocked” by the landscape of the UAE. The Puerto Rican supermodel jetted into Abu Dhabi several days ago, and swiftly took to the sightseeing trail, checking out everything from the capital’s Grand Mosque to the track of Yas Marina. And, judging by her social media feed, the Victoria’s Secret Angel was especially swept away by the deserts of the emirates.
“Nature truly amazes me,” Smalls captioned one stunning image of Abu Dhabi’s rocky climes, which she shared with her 2.8 million followers. “Don’t mind me, I’m just rocking out,” the model quipped, as she posed on a jagged structure. The star also got up close and personal with some of the UAE’s most iconic wildlife, including one regal camel. “When the lash envy is real and you find out there’s a race camel competition,” Smalls wrote alongside a snapsnot of her posing with the creature.
The star is in town to help Abu Dhabi-based airline Etihad Airways celebrate its 15th anniversary, with a big birthday bash set to be held at the Louvre Abu Dhabi on October 30. Also flying into the Emirates for the occasion is actor Liv Tyler, who has shared several shot of her plush first-class airline suite on her Instagram Stories as she ventures across the globe. The Armageddon star, who most recently stepped out at the wedding of Princess Eugenie in London on October 19, will join regional stars and entrepreneurs at the party. During the glitzy occasion, Etihad will also unveil a limited-edition collaboration with Diane Von Furstenberg, so we’ll be keeping our eyes on Instagram for all the party pictures tonight.
