Her designs have graced the ears of Zoë Kravitz, Gwyneth Paltrow, Blake Lively, and Rihanna, to name just a few – and now Maria Tash‘s eponymous collection is set to land in Dubai. The celebrity favorite jeweler and piercer is opening a luxury boutique in The Dubai Mall this month, which will become the brand’s second-ever freestanding location outside of its flagship store in New York City.
Located in the Downtown shopping destination’s Fashion Avenue, the Maria Tash Dubai store will feature four custom piercing rooms and a VIP lounge, as well as a wide selection of the designer’s fine jewelry. Tash first founded her label and piercing studio in New York City in 1993, and has gone to to be stocked in noted department stores, such as London’s Harrods and Liberty.
“I’m delighted to bring my designs and expertise to Dubai, which is an exciting luxury destination with an outstanding global reputation,” said the designer of her latest launch. “Working with clients from many countries in the Middle East has been a source of inspiration, and has allowed me to grow as a jewelry designer.”
The cult New York brand is renowned for its dainty, gem-studded pieces, as well as quirkier studs and horned designs. Hoops are crafted out of delicately thin gold for a refined finish, while each piece of jewelry is custom-fitted for a comfortable finish. With jewelry tailored for every part of the ear, as well as other body piercings, Tash has been credited with the concept of the “curated ear”, a modern-day take on layering and mix-and-matching a number of designs. Expertly trained piercers have been trained to take a shopper’s personal taste and anatomy into consideration, to concoct individualized piercings and bespoke combinations that will best flatter the wearer.
