To stack or not to stack? Undeniably, mixing and clashing rings, bracelets, and pendants is the trend du jour. The likes of the world’s best dressed women do it: Kate Foley, Dana Al Khalifa, Alexa Chung, Gilda Ambrosio, Caroline Issa, et al. Vogue Arabia looks to the expertise of New York-based jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher for the skinny on how to wear all your favorite jewels at once, and well.

What cutting edge jewelry trends do you think have style mileage?

Statement earrings, chokers, and large rings always circulate back into style. We include styles from all three categories each season.

Any unusual tips on how to make mixed metals work together?

Do clean your diamonds with an old toothbrush and toothpaste… It’s a fantastic and easy trick to keep your diamonds sparkling. This works for gold as well. Never clean your colored stones or pearls with an ammonia-based cleaner.

Is there a formula for stacking rings? How many is too many?

I’m really into a pinky ring stack at the moment. If you stack on one finger, then leave the others bare. It can become too much, very quickly. If you’re wearing cuffs with the rings, then wear them on the opposite hand. Balance yourself out.

What tips do you have for layering necklaces?

I am not a fan of chokers and a long necklace unless they are fine and dainty. Right now, I’m loving long layers of different chains in the same length. It feels very 70’s.

What is the most treasured piece in your jewelry box?

My JF charm necklace. It is my life on my chain and it means everything to me. I love creating these necklaces for women. No one ever has the same necklace and each charm means something different to us all.

Design you are most proud of…

My original dog tag that started my company.

Love the color of these boots. Vetements are my favorite boots right now as they are so comfortable. This is my new winter coat. The scarf makes a major statement but is also practical and is removable. I collect sunglasses and rotate mine daily. I love the vibe of these for winter they feel so ’70s après ski with a hint of disco.
