As IWC Schaffhausen celebrates a significant anniversary, Hend Sabri – who embodies the brand’s ethos with her successful, self-made career – shows off its timeless timepieces.

This is a year of celebration for IWC Schaffhausen. Honoring its 150th anniversary in 2018, the luxury watch manufacturer has unveiled 29 limited-edition Jubilee timepieces across its Portugieser, Portofino, Pilot’s Watch, and Da Vinci families. The Jubilee collection brings together heritage and modernity in a unique way, namely in the imprinted white or blue layered lacquer dials, which feature across the entire collection.

When it comes to the personification of the brand, Hend Sabri embodies IWC’s most treasured values as a successful, accredited actor, and a dedicated working mother. Born in Tunisia before putting down roots in Egypt, Hend represents the modern Arab woman as she straddles a career and family life with poise and elegance. Speaking with Vogue Arabia, the Asmaa star revealed her belief that “women in the Arab world have so much power [and] confidence”. “It’s a good year for Arab women,” Hend added.

In this exclusive interview with the herself, Hend opens up about everything we’ve ever wanted to know. What is yet to change for women across the acting world? How great an achievement really is the fishtail braid? What is the most important advice you would give to your children?

Founded in 1868, IWC Schaffhausen is as known for its precision engineering as its impeccable design. With a clear focus on timeless composition and technical ingenuity, these timepieces supersede traditional, gender-specific designs, as demonstrated by Hend in an exclusive shoot for Vogue Arabia’s September 2018 issue.
