Jessica Chastain, Ashley Park and Alicia Keys Stunned in Arab Designers This Weekend

Arab designers have continuously made their mark on the global fashion scene. So, it comes as no surprise that this past weekend Jessica Chastain, Ashley Park, and Alicia Keys were spotted wearing Arab designers, Zuhair Murad, Ellie Saab, and Yousef Akbar respectively.

Chastain turned heads as she arrived on the SAG Awards 2023 red carpet dressed in a fuchsia ball gown. The actor who was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie worked with her long-time stylist Elizabeth Stewart to create her look for the award show. Stewart opted for a Spring 2023 Zuhair Murad gown with an asymmetrical neckline that showed off her shoulders and ruffle accents on the skirt.

This is not the first time that the Oscar winner has chosen Zuhair Murad, just last year she made headlines after wearing a red embroidered gown from the Lebanese couturier’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection. At the time she even shared her love for the designer on her Instagram. Zuhair Murad has been a favorite on the red carpet for quite some time dressing the likes of Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez.

Styled by celebrity stylist Erin Walsh Ashley Park showed up to the SAG Awards in a stunning SS22 Elie Saab couture gown. The Emily in Paris star seemed to really appreciate the dramatic cape on the cream-colored embellished dress, making sure to highlight it in most of her photos. Her look was accessorized with gold Steve Madden Darla Platforms and a bedazzled ankle brace which she needed after an injury she suffered during her time in Dubai.

Elie Saab is no novice when it comes to the red carpet, his haute couture and ready-to-wear pieces have been seen regularly on red carpets over the years with celebrities such as Angelina Jolie, Michelle Yeoh, and Zendaya sporting the designer.

Keys, who was in Saudi Arabia last weekend for her second concert in AlUla and a panel discussion on women’s rights has been supporting Arab designers throughout her trip. For her concert on Friday evening, she paid homage to the Kingdom by wearing Yousef Akbar, the Saudi designer who started his eponymous brand in 2017. The brand uses recycled and upcycled materials and believes in supporting local artisans and small communities in the Middle East, a belief that Keys seems to share.

She opted for an electric blue sparkle twist dress, a two-piece ensemble consisting of a diamanté leotard with built-in gloves and padded shoulders and a draped twist skirt held by a gold-colored chain. Keys has been a champion of Saudi designers in the past as well, during her last trip to AlUla she not only wore but expressed appreciation for the family-owned brand Abadia.
