Jennifer Lopez‘s current summer style is unexpectedly and refreshingly modest. While some of her most talked-about looks in the past have been all about the jaw-dropping bold factor, the newlywed pop star is taking some of her closet’s more demure pieces out for a spin recently.
Stepping out in Manhattan after flying to New York City with husband Ben Affleck, Lopez wore a lilac long-sleeved maxi dress with floral lace embroidery. Topped off with a smart white buttoned-up collar, her pick was ideal for the early showing of Broadway’s Into The Woods. The 53-year-old accessorized the romantic number with her newfound signature platform pumps—a glittering silver pair from Valentino—oversized sunglasses, flower-shaped earrings, and a mini white Valentino bag. A textured low ponytail with a few wispy strands of hair framing the face completed her look for the afternoon.
This outfit falls in line with her inclination towards modest dressing, mood-boosting florals, and bright colors of late. It first made an appearance this season during her Parisian honeymoon with Affleck, when she wore a full-length pink dress by Gucci for a dinner date, and later in Italy, where she was spotted in a yellow piece by Valentino and a paisley number from Etro. Even when dressing down off-duty, Lopez was seen bearing the sun in a sweatsuit which came in a rainbow tie dye print nonetheless.
