Jennifer Lopez took her unexpected shoe game courtside to a basketball match this week by wearing glittering wedge heels.

Jennifer Lopez‘s love for statement shoes, including towering platforms and heels is well known. This week, the pop star took the same to watch a basketball game with husband Ben Affleck, all while making a strong case for the unexpected shoe. While one would opt for sporty, and pared-back footwear such as sneakers to sit courtside, Lopez proved herself to be a fan of the “wrong shoe theory” by going for sparkly boots with wedge heels. The eye-catching pair came in deep, iridescent hues picked straight from a galaxy, giving them an otherworldly feel.

While Lopez’s choice of footwear would have her fitting right in at a disco-themed celebration, the rest of her look toed the line between relaxed and glamorous. The 54-year-old wore a pair of wide-legged blue denim with a pastel-colored tweed jacket over a plain white t-shirt. She accessorized the outfit with another style signature in the form of tinted aviators, as well as chunky gold hoops, a long necklace, and a cream Chanel handbag. The singer and actor wore her hair down in a sleek middle part, and sported a very subtle makeup look which included bronzed, glowing skin and a nude lip.

At the game, Lopez was joined by Affleck and his son, Samuel Garner Affleck. The couple’s appearance at the game follows the release of Lopez’s documentary linked to her new musical album, which offered a deep insight into Lopez and Affleck’s rekindled relationship. “I think I was angry at you for a long time,” she tells him in the documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told. “But that heartbreak set both of us on a course to figuring ourselves out to being better people. I think I’ve forgiven you all the way. I think I need to forgive myself [for] some things.”
