Jean Paul Gaultier’s Final Show Featured Couture’s Ultimate Cast

Jean-Paul Gaultier’s final show was always destined to be one for the record books. The designer has regularly filled his runways with unexpected cameos—Madonna, Dita von Tesse, Beth Ditto, the list goes on—and for his swan song, he pulled out all the stops. Naturally, model muses like Karlie Kloss, Coco Rocha, and Gigi Hadid were all present, bringing the theatrical flair Gaultier’s runways are known for, but the casting coups were plentiful. Firstly, there was the runway debut of Paris Jackson. Despite being signed to IMG since 2017 and being a regular in the front row, Jackson has never walked for a collection—until now. Clad in a hippie-chic look, she joined stars like Irina Shayk, Yasmin Le Bon, and ballet dancer Germain Louvet onstage at the Théâtre du Châtelet for a rousing send-off.

The modeling moments didn’t end there, with each appearance yielding another surprise. There was the Almodóvar muse, Rossy de Palma, in ruffles and ornate headdress, cinema icon Beatrice Dalle smoked her way down the catwalk, and former Miss France Iris Mittenaere dressed as, what else, a cocktail dress version of France’s flag. Supermodels Karen Elson, Estelle Lefebure, and Khelfa brought down the house, and on the off chance that wasn’t enough excitement, Gaultier ended things with a rousing performance by Boy George. The event was a fitting send-off for fashion’s ultimate showman—and the most impressive couture cast of the season. Scroll through the gallery above to check out all the looks.
