We think we’ve just met our sole mates – although our bank manager may not agree. A pair of shoes billed as the world’s most expensive have landed in the UAE, and you’ll be able to see them up-close at the world’s only seven-star hotel. The bejeweled gold pumps, designed by Jada Dubai, will be displayed at the Burj Al Arab on September 26 from 5pm.

The extravagant shoes are valued at US $17 million (AED 62.4 million), according to the label, and were created in collaboration with Passion Jewellers, a Dubai-based jewelers. So, what makes them so lavish? Well, the Passion Diamond Shoes feature two flawless, D-grade, 15-karat diamonds at their toe, as well as a trim of smaller glimmering gems. The outer shoe itself is crafted with real gold, with a total of 238 diamonds used overall.

The Passion Diamond pumps will be displayed alongside Jada Dubai’s newly launched collection of jeweled shoes at the Jumeirah hotel, each of which are encrusted with a range of diamonds, ruby or pearls. The Diamond Pearl sandals, which cost US $25,000 (AED 91,800), are crafted with a soft peach fabric, delicate floral adornment, and a diamond and pearl tassel. The Ruby Stilettos, however, are embellished with a ruby and diamond clasp and a dainty bow, and are priced at US $27,000 (AED 99,100). Fusing art and design, the creations are available for purchase, or diamond lovers can visit the display at the Burj Al Arab from tonight.
