Watch the Making of the Ingie Paris Spring 2019 Show

Ingie Chalhoub presented her fifth Ingie Paris collection as part of the official Paris Fashion Week schedule (she made her PFW debut in 2016) at a packed runway presentation on Friday. The glamorous Spring 2019 offering was unveiled at the Left Bank’s Ecole des Beaux Arts, where models emerged from a spectacular flower wall made up of artfully arranged roses and peonies. In addition to making a striking backdrop, the colorful floral display reflected the botanical motifs that punctuated the collection.

The show was attended by editors, It girls, and fashion insiders, including the likes of Olivia Palermo, Johanna Olsson, and Diala Makki, who all came out to support the Lebanese womenswear designer and entrepreneur who was recently knighted in Paris. French model Gabrielle Caunesil was also among the VIP guests sitting front row.

The line-up of clothes featured the designer’s signature waist-cinching silhouettes, dazzling embroidery, flower-strewn, padded-hip mini dresses, and ruffled, sheer tops that were coupled with chokers, dangling pearl earrings, organza blindfolds, belts, and wide-brimmed hats styled on a diverse cast of models of all ethnicities, a handful of whom received a pink dye job backstage ahead of the show.

The collection drew inspiration from different 20th-century fashion icons and muses, translating into mini dresses, jumpsuits, capes, and gowns made out of rich materials such as tulle, organza, and duchess satin, which were draped, pleated, folded, covered in crystals, feathers, and sequins aplenty. The color palette was a feminine splash of pink, sea green, and gold anchored by hints of black.

Standouts include a pink tuxedo jacket worn with black, wide-legged taffeta trousers; a rose minidress with long, tiered sleeves and fuchsia feather trimmings; a sequined, dip-dyed pantsuit; and a white, tulle dress embroidered with hand-stitched blossoms and equipped with a matching hooded cape that was fastened with a pink, satin ribbon.
