Imaan Hammam turned 21 on Thursday (October 5), and she certainly had a lot to celebrate. Though Hammam was notably absent from the Spring 2018 runways during Fashion Month, the Dutch model, who opened for Givenchy at just 17 years old and landed her first Vogue cover before turning 18, has accomplished more in the last three years than many models achieve during their entire career, which means she earned her week-long birthday festivities.
The Vogue Arabia April cover star, who has Moroccan and Egyptian heritage, kicked off her birthday with a pre-party that consisted of dancing and singing the night away to Beyoncé tracks with family and friends at the Royal Monceau Raffles in Paris. Hammam opted for a single-sleeved, denim mini-dress by Baja East in collaboration with Hudson Jeans for the occasion, accessorized with a pair of Matrix-style sunglasses and a black choker. She later switched to a 1970’s disco-style, slinky, metallic gold number to continue the fun. The party was attended by fellow model and Vogue Arabia July/August cover girl Jourdan Dunn and Adwoa Aboah. The friends didn’t hesitate to document the fun on their respective Snapchat and InstaStories accounts, giving us major FOMO in the process.
As for her hair and makeup, Hammam opted for gravity-defying curls styled by New York-based hairstylist Hos Hounkpatin, evoking images of a young Diana Ross. Her makeup was kept relatively pared back, and featured a matte complexion, neatly-groomed brows, and a barely-there strip of black, liquid eyeliner. A coat of mascara and clear lip gloss completed the look.
