It has been a busy few weeks for Imaan Hammam. The Dutch model of Moroccan and Egyptian descent is a fixture on the diverse runways for many international brands and is being hailed as the stand-out star of this season’s Milan fashion week. However, most recently Hammam has celebrated turning 24-years-old, with a magical trip to Disneyland Paris.

The former Vogue Arabia cover star kicked off her birthday celebrations with a fun-filled day at Disneyland Paris with her closest friends and fellow models, Leila Nda, Cindy Bruna, and Ophelie Guillermand. Hammam looked chic for the occasion wearing a burgundy faux-fur coat accompanied by a facemask with a minimalistic slicked-back hairdo. After the day-time celebrations, Hammam later slipped into a more elegant look for a dinner at restaurant Giuse Trattoria attended by many of her close friends. The model stunned in a silk rose-pink blouse which she paired with a black asymmetric mini skirt, while showing off her show-stopping curls styled by celebrity hairstylist Alexandrine Piel.

As the model celebrated her 24th birthday, she received an outpour of messages from people across the fashion world, including designers Brandon Maxwell and Zac Posen, as well as a heartfelt message from fellow model Shanina Shaik. Lebanese designer Eli Mizrahi also took to Instagram to wish Hammam a happy birthday. “Happiest birthday to one of my favorite people ever,” he wrote, adding, “Enjoy your day! Love you!”

Hammam is a rising star in the fashion world, with a plethora of achievements to her name, most gained within the last three years. From catapulting to fame after opening  Riccardo Tisci’s Givenchy SS14 show, at aged just 16, to being the Vogue Arabia cover star for its first-year anniversary issue next to the iconic Somali supermodel Iman Abdulmajid, Hammam certainly has a lot to celebrate. Alongside her many achievements, Hammam has become a pioneering figure for championing diversity across the fashion industry. In 2017, Hammam became the first black Arab model to be the face of Chanel Beauty and this is certain to be just the beginning of what she will go onto achieve.
