The legendary Lady Dior bag has been redesigned by 11 artists from around the world, and for the first time, they’re all female. Using a variety of different mediums and materials, including 24-carat gold leaf, metal charms, silk embroidery, plexiglass, faux fur, beads and black crystals, the new designs are individual and utterly wearable works of art.
Dior’s artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri championed the female-only cast, giving them free rein to interpret the Lady Dior in a way that would reflect the artists’ modern and multi-disciplinary crafts. Produced in limited edition quantities, each bag is certain to fly off shelves when it hits selected boutiques worldwide this month.
