Designer Erdem Moralıoğlu has announced his partnership with H&M, the Swedish retail giant whose designer collaboration series is now in its 13th year. Moralıoğlu follows in the footsteps of a long list of high-profile designer collaborators from Karl Lagerfeld in 2004 to Olivier Rousteing in 2015 and Humberto Leon and Carol Lim of Kenzo in 2016. His collection for H&M will feature women’s clothes, shoes and accessories— and if his Resort 2018 collection is any indication, expect plenty of embroidery, floral details, ruffled hemlines, a muted autumnal color palettes, and feminine silhouettes that is part of the Erdem brand signature. The designer collaboration also marks his first foray into menswear. The collection is scheduled to hit the company’s e-commerce site and in stores worldwide on November 2nd.
While the lookbook is forthcoming, the teaser video of the collection, which was directed by Australian film director and producer Baz Luhrmann, hints at strong tailoring for men, dashes of animal print outerwear, and blooming prints splashed across so-wearable dresses.
Since establishing his brand in 2005, the London-based designer is a red carpet favorite. He has captured the attention of some of Hollywood’s leading lights and dressed the likes of The Duchess of Cambridge, Emma Watson, Ruth Negga, and Nicole Kidman, to name but a few. With a celebrity clientele that some designers can only dream of, Moralıoğlu and his H&M collection will no doubt build up cues outside flagship stores the world over.
The Erdem for H&M collection arrives in H&M stores globally from November 2nd.
