Hijab Style: How Modest Influencers Ruled NYFW

This New York Fashion Week, hijab-wearing fashion influencers provided endless styling tips and outfit inspiration that were both on-trend and modest. While each street style star shared a knack for longer hemlines and necklines, they all proved to have their own unique sense of personal style. For instance, Mademoiselle Meme’s Marwa Biltagi was practically a camera magnet with her ability to effortlessly mix streetwear and modest key pieces. Memorably, one look included an embellished Taller Marmo overlay, paired with white jeans, a Supreme belt bag, and artfully-tied matching headscarf. The look had all the street style photographers clicking, and they weren’t the only ones who were impressed. “I think every guy on the street complimented my outfit because of this bag,” said Biltagi in a caption for one of the images on Instagram. Meanwhile, a trio of friends commanded full-attention with their intricately wrapped headscarves, further proving that sometimes the best way to make a street style impact is to simply be yourself. In the gallery ahead, five Vogue-approved hijab looks fresh from New York Fashion Week.
