This is How Hermès Does Laundry Day

Hermès is making laundry day a fashionable chore. In celebration of the 80th anniversary of its iconic silk scarves, the French heritage brand has launched a series of laundromat-themed pop-up shops, aptly named Hermèsmatic. The multiple city tour concept that’s making its way to Dubai in April plays host to a free service that allows visitors to bring in their beloved scarves and have them updated in vibrant rinses such as denim blue and fuchsia pink. After a 48-hour drying time, customers can pick up their revamped silk squares from the temporary space that’s lined with retro washing machines, waiting chairs, and detergent boxes stamped with the brand’s moniker. In a rush? A selection of vintage scarves will also be on sale, featuring the brand’s archival prints and dip-dyed in nine different shades at the Hermès workshops in Lyon.
