From embellished floor-length gowns to intricately tailored pantsuits, Vogue Arabia September 2020 cover star Hend Sabri knows a thing or two about rocking a red carpet. Frequently seen at film festivals and premieres, the Cairo-based actor and lawyer has a versatile sense of style; often oscillating between whimsical, feminine silhouettes and cool, understated designs. With many of her looks being curated by Egypt-born stylist Yasmine Eissa, Sabri can usually be found in a wide variety of Arab and international designers alike; from Ziad Nakad and Marmar Halim to Armani and Valentino. Well versed in the art of using makeup and accessories to complete a look, the actor is also unafraid to sport a pair of bold, dangling earrings, or conversely barely-there makeup, depending on the occasion and the outfit.
While frequently celebrated for her sartorial red-carpet pursuits, Sabri has previously elaborated on the intimidation she once felt as a “newcomer” to the fashion world. Speaking to Vogue Arabia earlier in the year, she talked about her experience at Milan Fashion Week as a guest who had been specifically invited by a big label. “It’s new to me,” she said. “I come from the cinema world so fashion to me has always been kind of intimidating. But it’s art; it’s costumes coming to life, and this I relate to.”
