The Hadid Sisters Score a Double Style Homerun

Gigi and Bella Hadid demanded a double take at Monday night’s 2017 Glamour Women of the Year Awards, where Gigi was being honored as “The Supernova.” The Palestinian-American sister act, who left their Manhattan apartment hand-in-hand as they made their way to the ceremony in Brooklyn, offered up a sartorial masterclass in chic evening dressing by way of two contrasting elegant ensembles.

Gigi opted for an embellished, champagne-colored crepe gown from Zuhair Murad’s Fall 2016 couture collection, with a high-neck and cascading slit sleeves. The 22-year-old elevated the glamorous ensemble with drop earrings and Christian Louboutin pumps. The look was a stark contrast to the Nina Ricci draped maxi skirt and coordinating button-down bodysuit she wore earlier that morning during a visit to The Today Show.

Meanwhile, Bella chose a white silk pantsuit from Cristina Ottaviano’s Spring 2018 collection, with a dazzling silver asymmetrical bodice.

En route to the event, Gigi lost her balance and nearly fell over while her stoic sister gripped her hand firmly, bringing back memories of the Anna Sui Spring 2018 show, where Gigi had a wardrobe malfunction on the catwalk (her stiletto strap came loose, with the shoe eventually departing her foot entirely) and was led down the runway by Bella.
