The Global Gift Gala is returning to Dubai in December, and bringing with it a slew of A-listers. The sixth edition of the annual charity gala, which will kick off on December 13 at Grosvenor House, is set to feature a star-studded guest list that includes the likes of Huda Kattan (who is nominated for the Women Empowerment award), actors Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Gary Dourdan, as well as Deepak Chopra, the acclaimed author of The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. Of course, the honorary chair Eva Longoria Bastón, who hosted the second edition of the gala in 2013, will also be walking the red carpet. Meanwhile, R&B duo Lion Babe, which comprises Jillian Hervey (Vanessa Williams’s daughter) and Lucas Goodman, is set to perform during the evening alongside British singer James Arthur.
Maria Bravo launched the Global Gift Gala Dubai, in association with the Global Gift Foundation, in 2012 with the aim of elevating the wellbeing and lives of children and families. The non-profit organization has since flourished in doing just that.
The black-tie event will include a dinner and an auction of “money-can’t-buy” items and experiences, with all proceeds going towards initiatives by UAE-based global philanthropic organization, Dubai Cares, and the Global Gift Foundation.
Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer at Dubai Cares, said in a statement: “This charity gala continues to be a high-profile, high-impact opportunity for donors and supporters to renew their promise to invest in children and young people’s education. We hope to set an example for the coming generations to take the same footsteps and help in creating opportunities to improve the lives of children and young people by giving them proper knowledge and education.”
The 2018 Global Gift Gala will take place at Grosvenor House, Marina and will include an auction, dinner, and live entertainment. Tickets start at AED/SAR 2,000.
