After an unfortgettable extravaganza in Dubai, Armani took over Venice this weekend for a very special celebration. Hosted during the 2023 edition of the Venice Film Festival, One Night Only Venezia turned out to be an evening like no other.

Globally renowned designer Giorgio Armani kicked off the special night with an Armani Privé haute couture show, which took place at the Arsenale – the ancient complex of shipyards and workshops that reside in the eastern corner of Venice. Against the backdrop of the Tese delle Nappe, guests including the iconic Sophia Loren got a first look at Armani’s latest offerings, which were inspired by the beauty of Venice.

The soundtrack for the show was equally exciting – Armani’s models sauntered down the runway to the tune of The Four Seasons, by Venice’s very own Antonio Vivaldi.

In true Armani fashion, One Night Only Venezia continued on post show with a thriving party attended by close to 700 guests. Roísín Murphy lit up the night with a musical performance, while DJ Mark Ronson carried the celebration on into the wee hours of the morning. What’s more, One Night Only Venezia 2023 was designed by Armani to have minimum environmental impact, in compliance with ISO 20121, just like previous editions in Dubai and St Moritz.

To say that Armani shares a special bond with Venice Film Festival may be an understatement. The designer’s bond with the annual celebration of the best in the business of films dates back to 1990, when Martin Scorsese presented his documentary Made in Milan. To celebrate the movie’s world premiere, the designer hosted a grand party for Scorsese at Ca’ Leone on Giudecca. Since then, Giorgio Armani has also dressed countless actors and directors for their big VFF red carpet moments.

This weekend, Giorgio Armani was also honored with the Golden Lion in Murano glass from the Mayor of Venice, Luigi Brugnaro as “a gesture of recognition for a figure and a brand with an international dimension.” On the special occasion, the designer said, “This award inspires great joy and emotion in me. It is an important acknowledgement of my work, which I am delighted to receive on the occasion of the eightieth Venice Film Festival and of One Night Only Venezia, an event I organized to pay tribute to the city to which I have been so strongly attached for many years.”
