If social media is anything to go by (and hey, in this day and age, it’s where every big declaration is made), then Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have cemented their reconciliation with a romantic getaway. The half-Palestinian model and British-Pakistani pop star have rekindled their relationship in recent months, after first announcing a split in March following two years together. And while the pair are yet to confirm their on-off relationship in as many words, they have been taking to Instagram in the last few weeks to share cozy snapshots and affectionate messages.

The most recent showed the duo holding hands, as the 23-year-old model suggested the pair were departing from the US. “Vamos, baby,” she captioned a shot of 25-year-old Malik uploaded on Tuesday, alongside a gif of a rotating globe. It now appears the pair are on an exotic holiday, as Hadid has shared several clips to her Instagram Stories featuring palm trees and pools. Even more tellingly, the model uploaded a selfie, as she relaxed in a swimsuit, shirt, and, most notably, a necklace spelling out “Zayn”. The catwalk star was first snapped wearing the accessory on Tuesday in New York, shortly before the pair are believed to have jetted away. While it’s not known exactly where the pair are vacationing, it looks to be somewhere suitably sunny and relaxing, and marks the couple’s first known overseas trip since their reconciliation.

The couple first parted ways in March after two years together, they revealed in separate statements at the time. “Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend,” the former One Direction singer wrote on Twitter. “She has such an incredible soul. I’m grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time.”

Hadid echoed his sentiment, writing on her Twitter page: “Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years.” The model continued: “I’m forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for.”

However, three months later, the duo stoked rumors they had reconciled, with Hadid using her Instagram account to upload several snapshots with Malik. Then, in July, the model used the social media platform to embrace her sunspots in a close-up selfie of her makeup-free face, writing “my baby says he likes my sunspots”. It was one of the first public confirmations from Hadid that the couple had reignited their romance.

Rekindling relationships seems to be the current trend with Hollywood’s famous young things. Hadid’s younger sister Bella is also seemingly back on with her on-again flame The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye. The 22-year-old joined the Call Out My Name singer and a bunch of friends in Tokyo last month, sending the rumor mill into overdrive. The trip comes shortly after model pal Hailey Baldwin also reignited her romance with her ex Justin Bieber, who is now her fiancé.
