Gigi Hadid Nails Spring Neutrals in Modest, Tonal Tailoring

Gigi Hadid is a pro at delivering a fashion statement on the red carpet, from wowing in a custom red Zac Posen bodice gown at Vanity Fair’s Oscars after-party, to her roster of spectacular Met Gala looks (we can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve for next month). And remember when she wore six outfits in one day on her Next In Fashion promo tour earlier this year?

However, when it comes to her off-duty style, Gigi tends to prefer layering neutrals in relaxed silhouettes. Her latest appearance? A lesson in tonal dressing that’s ideal for a night out with friends. Spotted on a dinner date with her Next in Fashion co-host Tan France and Antoni Porowski, Hadid wore an oversized beige blazer, matching cargo-style trousers, an asymmetrical tank top and a cream sweater draped over her shoulders. The look was completed with layers of gold chains, a black leather belt, black leather brogues and her favorite Loro Piana L19 clutch bag in cream.

Previously, Gigi has been seen wearing a range of outfits in a muted palette. She’s been spied in beige and black slouchy sets at fashion week, typically worn with high-top trainers or mini Ugg boots, with a camel overcoat thrown on top. For her 27th birthday celebrations last year, the model opted for an all-white lace Dion Lee look comprising a corset top, duster coat and flared trousers.

Succession’s fourth and final season is driving renewed interest in the “stealth wealth” aesthetic, therefore Gigi’s preference for a baggy suit in minimalist tones is bang on trend. Retailers like Cos, Arket and Uniqlo have a variety of stylish and accessibly priced pieces, or look to the autumn/winter 2023 runways of Ferragamo, The Row and Stella McCartney.
