First, Beyoncé sported her jewelry line with Messika, and now the designs have found fans in another A-lister. Gigi Hadid took to her Instagram stories yesterday to gush over her fellow model pal Hailey Baldwin repping pieces that she designed for the Paris-based high jewelry label. “Gorgeous baby @haileybaldwin in her #MessikabyGigiHadid Diamond G-pin Earrings” wrote the part-Palestinian model alongside a picture of Justin Bieber’s fiancée. The same earrings were sported by Queen B during her On the Run II Tour with husband Jay-Z. Her pieces have also been previously donned by former Vogue Arabia cover star Adwoa Aboah, Cardi B, Dua Lipa, and Serena Williams, among many others.
Hadid first unveiled the limited-edition high jewelry line, which also includes bracelets, rings, and necklaces, last year. The collaboration was launched to mark the 10th anniversary of French label Messika’s Move collection, which Hadid reimagined with punk accents and graphic details. Pieces come in white, rose and yellow golds, with a refined twinkling of diamonds.
The model’s design talents continue to win over A-list fans. Just a month ago, the catwalk star took to the photo-sharing app to celebrate the fact that legendary pop icon Madonna has donned her Gigi x Vogue Eyewear collaboration. “Oh. My. Madonna,” Hadid captioned a shot of the 59-year-old Frozen singer wearing a pair of sculptural cat-eye sunnies. “Thank you so much for including #gigiforvogueeyewear in this amazing story.” The image was taken from Madonna’s cover story and shoot with Vogue Italia, who captured the US star for their August 2018 issue. And according to Vogue Italia’s creative director Giovanni Bianco, Madonna “basically did her own styling”, meaning the star most likely took a fancy to the 23-year-old model’s designs. Hadid first debuted a collaboration with Vogue Eyewear for Fall 2017, and unveiled her second line with the accessories label for Spring 2018.
We can’t wait to see which A-lister reps Hadid’s designs next.
