Part-Palestine supermodel Gigi Hadid is adding a new feather to her cap by launching her own clothing brand, the name of which she recently revealed to be Guest in Residence.

Last week, the former Vogue Arabia cover star shared a glimpse of her newest venture, a knitwear line, on social media with a series of pictures showing her at work creating the pieces, along with fabric swatches, the brand’s logo, clothing tags and piles of sweaters, as well as photo of her wearing a lavender number from the collection. In addition to this, the post also showed stylist and fashion editor Gabrielle Karefa-Johnson, knitwear designer CJ Kim, and fashion publicist Kevin McIntosh Jr. collaborating with Hadid. The 27-year-old captioned the post, “Been workin on something . . . with love, @guestinresidence” and also added “founder, creative director @guestinresidence” to her Instagram bio.

Although the launch date and further information about the knitwear line are yet to be revealed, the Instagram account and website for the brand are all set up and running with the site showing “coming up soon”. Hadid’s friends and family showed support and love in the comments section with sister and fellow model Bella Hadid writing, “What we’ve all been waiting for”, while Hailey Bieber commented, “So excited about this”.

While this will be the first time Hadid steps into the shoes of a solo designer, she has previously collaborated Tommy Hilfiger for four seasons. The duo made their debut collaboration in September 2016 with the Tommy Pier collection. “Collaborating with Tommy has been a great introduction to the world of design, and has also taught me about expressing my individuality and finding inspiration in everything around me,” the model had shared with Vogue Arabia. The mother-of-one also forayed into design earlier this year by collaborating with Frankies Bikinis to design a swimwear and loungewear collection.
