Georges Hobeika unveiled its Fall 2019 Ready-to-Wear show during Paris Fashion Week this weekend. The Lebanese couturier’s decorative flourishes and finery were informed by an overarching theme of “celebration”, which took form of heavily-embellished gowns, sequins and beads aplenty, and dazzling dresses with up-to-there slits that we can just picture on the Cannes red carpet right now.
Gold and pink dominated, while cuts of black and ruby complemented the lineup. Garments were embellished with a smattering of gold studs, crystals, and beads. Feathered midi-dresses, sequined minis, and corseted jumpsuits lent a certain playfulness, while delicate floral embroidery and a serpent motif or two further upped the collection’s glitzy anté.
The lineup boasted all of the savoir faire and finery of any one of Hobeika’s couture collections. Indeed, if there’s one thing Arab designers have undoubtedly mastered, its their unparalleled and outstanding craftsmanship.
