Meet the Designer Behind the Couture Maison of Georges Hobeika

Master Lebanese couturier Georges Hobeika turns to great architecture and storied traditions harking from Andalusia for Fall 2017 Haute Couture. Cue intricate embroidery, bold silhouettes accentuating femininity, and distinctly glamorous gowns primed for high-society events. The Vogue Arabia fashion desk peeks behind the atelier curtain to discover more about the Middle Eastern designer, who once interned at Chanel and is now at the helm of his namesake brand.

What do you see in the future for the couture industry?

I see a revival of the quintessential couture craft, fueled by the demand from a new generation of fashion lovers who want to experience wearing one-of-kind, tailor-made designs that capture a woman’s unique style.

What is your signature touch on every design?

Sensuality and modernism, along with a distinct femininity accentuated by precious embroideries and crystals.

Who is the Georges Hobeika woman?

The Georges Hobeika woman’s style always makes a statement, contrasting elements of romance and grace with elements of boldness and seduction. She is confident and, when it comes to fashion, she is fearless.
