With Arabic culture as the perpetual inspiration behind the brand, Hessa Falasi takes traditional garments of the Middle East and lends them a contemporary spin in seasonal hues. Having presented the Fall 2017 collection at FFWD in Dubai in March – a lineup of effortlessly chic long-line trouser and cover-up combos and drop-waist dresses with soft belts – the designer has taken a new direction for the trans-seasonal offering. “For Resort 2018, I was inspired by elements of traditional clothing worn by Native Americans,” Falasi tells Vogue Arabia.

“I created a limited collection this season and I used very light fabrics like crepe, chiffon, and cotton with handmade tassel,” adds Falasi.

True to the brand’s DNA, expect a muted color palette of earthy hues with a fresh twist: soft sea foam, smoky grays, and crisp whites are punctuated with sandy fringing placed on pockets, dangling from sculpted shoulder lines, and mid-sleeve on belted abayas.
