Hold tight, fashion lovers. It’s been announced that Fashion Forward, Dubai’s premiere platform for showcasing the works of emerging and established regional designers, has been postponed indefinitely. In a statement, the company said: “The creators and producers behind Fashion Forward Dubai are committed to ensuring the next Fashion Forward experience is sustainable and addresses the needs of a rapidly evolving industry. For now, future editions of Fashion Forward Dubai, the bi-annual event, are postponed until further notice.” The three-day-long event was scheduled to take place from October 25 to 27.

“In the meantime, FFWD LLC continues to create engaging fashion and luxury brand events, concepts, and experiences,” the statement continued. Established in 2013, the Fashion Forward Dubai served to spotlight regional design talent by providing them with a platform to showcase their works via runway shows and presentations. Following its milestone 10th season in October 2017, the event was postponed in March 2018, with the intent of returning for its 11th season this month.

However, those who were looking forward to supporting regional talent will be pleased to know that another fashion week dedicated to Middle Eastern designers will be kicking off just a two-hour plane ride away in Riyadh this month. Saudi Fashion Week, which was announced just two weeks ago, is set to play host to the Arab world’s rising talents from October 21 to 25. The first edition of the Fashion Week, which is organized by HH Princess Noura Bint Faisal Al Saud, will welcome a line-up of designers including Arwa al Banawi, Yanina Couture, Yahya Al Bishri, Lama Askari, Dar Walid Attallah, and Robert Abi Nader, who will showcase their Spring 2019 collections.
