The nominees for this year’s British Fashion Awards at the Royal Albert Hall were announced by chairman Natalie Massenet on Monday, and supermodel sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid are both up for Model of the Year gong. The Palestinian-American Vogue Arabia cover girls were chosen by a board of 2,000 fashion insiders, and are up against It Brits Adwoah Aboah, Winnie Harlow, and Spring 2018’s breakout star, Kaia Gerber.
Both sisters were nominated for the prestigious accolade last year, with Gigi taking home the award wearing Atelier Versace. Meanwhile, Bella was crowned Model of the Year 2016 in the Industry’s Vote category for female models by Models.com. Following closely behind her was none other than her big sister, Gigi, who was named runner-up of Model.com’s Readers’ Choice category.
Perhaps the tables will turn this year. Indeed, Bella has had quite the stellar 2017. Asides from being named brand ambassador for Dior, the 21-year-old has fronted campaigns for the likes of Bulgari, Alexander Wang, and Nike. Additionally, she has a clothing collection with Chrome Hearts set to debut this year and practically ruled the couture and ready-to-wear runways.
The Fashion Awards 2017 winners will be announced at a gala ceremony held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Monday 4 December. See the full list of nominees below.
