Saudi Arabian couturier of the stars Ashi Studio is known for weaving a story into every collection he presents. From Spring 2019’s homage to the “fabulous eras” of the 50s and 90s in “Letters from Margaret” to the immersive art installation of Fall 2019’s “The Silence in the Mirror”, founder Mohamed Ashi’s creations are not just gowns but timeless reflections of history and the human experience. Ashi’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection is titled “Emotions” because of the “overflow of feelings experienced during the disconnection from reality and transcendence of dreams and the subconscious.” Transforming the images flowing through his mind at the time, Ashi captures various forms, shapes, and emotions into the fabric and designs of his next masterpieces.
An exclusive first look at the house’s upcoming 10-piece collection features dramatic silhouettes, voluminous sleeves, and endless trains in a trio of white, grey, and gold, specifically choosing the golden hue in his new palette because of its unique storytelling properties. “It is reflective and acts like a mirror, allowing one to reflect in the mirror and wonder where the journey will continue to,” explained the Studio.

Emulating a 21st-century take on traditional beauty through a modernization of iconic sartorial styles, Ashi Studios has made its continuous mark at Hollywood‘s biggest events since its five-year foray into couture, from Beyoncé‘s infamous pink dress at her Global Citizen Festival performance and Cardi B‘s ruffled gown at the 2018 Grammys to Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai donning a custom creation at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and Ciara hosting the 2019 American Music Awards in leopard-print.
“Opulence is an element of drama, a vision of a dream, and people like to dream. The red carpet is the perfect setting to unleash this vision and tell these dreamy stories,” said Ashi previously. As his latest collection of stories unfold, we look forward to seeing which star will don his coveted visions at the next red carpet affair.
