You may know this Dubai-based social media star from her position at the forefront of Middle Eastern style influencers, but Karen Wazen is more than what meets the Instafeed, and the eye. Less than a year after the official launch of Karen Wazen Eyewear last December, the local label will debut on Farfetch today, giving the global luxury fashion industry digital access to a specially curated selection of Wazen’s contemporary line.
Although previously only available on her e-store and for a limited time at a pop-up in Harvey Nichols in London, Farfetch will be the first online platform to release her eponymous eyewear collection, featuring a trendy range of different shapes and sizes to elevate our favorite looks. Farfetch shoppers can choose from 10 of her best-selling frames that boast an innovative approach to sunglasses, from vintage silhouettes to funky colored tints, aiming to not only be a reflection of Wazen’s own style but also expressive of individual taste.
“At the brand’s core, we celebrate diversity and individuality from our product offering, to the way we visually communicate and interact with our audience, and sharing that commitment with Farfetch to broaden our market globally as our first online retail partner is a very exciting feat for the brand,” said Wazen.
Farfetch shares the same sentiment on the partnership, expressing their excitement to showcase a local designer at such an international level. “The launch of Karen Wazen Eyewear allows us to put a spotlight on someone from our own regional community and we are thrilled to share Karen’s inspiration with the global Farfetch network,” said Edward Sabbagh, Managing Director at Farfetch Middle East.
With two million Instagram followers, an enviable closet, an incredibly photogenic family, and an impressive business acumen, the Lebanese designer and content creator seems to be the Wonder Woman of balancing her personal and professional spheres. Wazen’s former lifestyle blog, Karen’s Choice, catapulted her into the spotlight and our hearts back in 2016 with her raw and relatable posts about motherhood, travel and, of course, fashion. As her fame and family have grown, Wazen continued to give us a real glimpse into her everyday life and elegant wardrobe through her social media channels and as a muse for many renowned brands. Now, as an entrepreneur and designer herself, we can’t wait to see what’s next for Wazen (and her adorable kids).
