As we inch closer to the holy month of Ramadan, designer Dima Ayad launches a beautiful new collection that covers the many moods and occasions of this special time. Find out more below.
Season after season, Dima Ayad delights fashion enthusiasts with a fresh wave of covetable creations. Known for her skillful play on billowing silhouettes, molten metallic fabrics and pop hues, the Lebanese designer has quickly become a favorite not just in Dubai, where she is based, but across the region.
Now, with Ramadan 2024 just around the corner, Ayad launches a brand new festive collection that’s ideal for all the iftars, suhoors, and family get-togethers that are quickly filling up your calendar. Comprising of 19 styles, the Ramadan 2024 collection focuses on rich midnight blue, sun-kissed gold and luminous silver, with dashes of deep maroons, greens and purples in the mix.
On the roster: Ramadan essentials like kaftans and long, flowing dresses, along with smart two-piece co-ord sets and kimono, all crafted using high quality textiles and boasting Dima Ayad’s signature aesthetic. For loyalists of the brand, the iconic Ayad signature metallic dress makes a comeback for the holy month in new colorways, along with fresh new ensembles.
Expect the designer’s trademark splatters of silver and gold on beautifully pleated fabrics, along with accent panels of sequin work, and rounded, wonderfully feminine shapes. A novel element that sets the Ramadan collection apart from previous lines is Dima Ayad’s new “brushstroke” fabric, seen on a series of dresses and abaya-style jackets. Resembling the strokes of a paintbrush, these patterns stand out against their creamy white canvases to create a bold, yet effortless look.
Another noteworthy fabric you’ll spot this time around comes sprinkled with metallic patterns depicting stars, moons and Islamic architectural elements to create the illusion of a sparkling Ramadan night sky. While Dima Ayad’s latest print pops fantastically against the darker shades of the collection, there’s no denying the elegance it brings to lighter tones like ivory.
For Ayad, the Ramadan collection is a deeply personal one. After all, it’s been crafted keeping in mind “my favorite time of the year, filled with meaningful conversations, feeling closer to our roots and heritage,” she explains. “What truly inspired this collection was everything I always love in Ramadan. Inspired by the celestial wonders that grace the night sky during Ramadan, this collection is a symphony of stars and moons, adorned with a delicate hint of print that dances across fabrics like an artist’s brush stroke. Each piece is a cosmic celebration, capturing the essence of Ramadan’s luminous spirit and the timeless elegance that unfolds under the gentle glow of the moonlit nights.”
