Following in the footsteps of her close friend Victoria Beckham, actor Eva Longoria has turned her hand to fashion design and is set to showcase her debut, and eponymous, collection on September 13 at New York Fashion Week.

The Telenovela star will showcase a new and affordable collection for The Eva Longoria Collection as part of the Kia STYLE360’s show at Metropolitan West, alongside Rosario Dawson and Orange is the New Black’s Alysia Reiner. The collection will be streamed live and will also feature 360-degree broadcasts, reports WWD.

This is not Longoria’s first foray into fashion, however. Last year, Longoria teamed up with US retailer The Limited before launching her own offering of slogan T-shirts, skinny jeans, baseball jackets and bodycon dresses online. The collection featured a range of sizes from XXS to XXL and retailed between US$39 and US$159.

”People keep asking me why it’s taken me so long to do a clothing line, because I’ve been wanting to do it forever,” she told The Hollywood Reporter at the time of her collection. ”I was offered a lot of different deals — it was basically to just put your name on something. But I wanted to be part of the process. I wanted to design, I wanted to help in the sourcing, I wanted to be involved in buying the artwork (for prints and graphics), everything. And to do that, it is its own full-time job.”

In addition to being an actress, Hollywood producer and a fashion designer, Longoria is an advocate for human right’s. The philanthropist launched the Eva Longoria Foundation to help Latina women build a better future for themselves through education and entrepreneurship and is also the honorary chair of the Global Gift Foundation, a non-profit organization that seeks to assist women and children in need.

The 42 year old has been supporting the organization for years, attending its charity events in different cities around the globe including in Dubai in 2015 and 2016. In 2015, Longoria, who was in the Emirates for the Dubai International Film Festival, raised over US$300,000 at the third annual Global Gift Gala, just days before getting engaged to her now-husband Jose Antonio Baston in the Dubai desert. For the fourth edition of the charity gala, she was joined by actors Melanie Griffith and Andie MacDowell.
