Elie Saab is celebrated as a symbol of hope in his home country of Lebanon. So much so, that a National Lebanese postage stamp dedicated to him was unveiled in Beirut over the weekend. Featuring a portrait of the Lebanese couturier, the collector’s stamp, dubbed “Elie Saab-Le Timbre,” was created by LibanPost in an effort to recognize the renowned designer’s accomplishments and meteoric success.
The unveiling of the postage sticker took place during an exhibition held at the newly-restored Beit Beirut. Held under the patronage of H.E Lebanon’s Prime Minister Saad Hariri, the exhibition was attended by dignitaries, artists, press, as well as regional and international celebrities and friends of Saab’s.
Since launching his namesake brand in 1997, hundreds of celebrities and royalty have looked to the House of Elie Saab to dress them, including HM Queen Rania of Jordan, Beyoncé, Sherihan, Countess Stéphanie de Lannoy, and many more. The Elie Saab company continues to flourish year after year, introducing a fragrance in 2011, bridal line in 2016, and opening flagship stores in international cities including New York, London, Dubai, and Hong Kong.
In the past, LibanPost issued a stamp honoring Lebanese businessman Carlos Ghosn as well as the country’s Independence heroes.
