Elie Saab Launches a New Women’s Leadership Initiative

The April issue of Vogue Arabia – the “Power issue” led by cover star Imaan Hammam – is dedicated to the theme of strong women across the region who uphold the Arab identity with tenacity, sensitivity, and talent. Therefore, its aptly timed to announce that Elie Saab’s #GirlOfNowIntiative campaign launches a new initiative to champion female leadership.

At a private event this week in Dubai speakers include Elissa Freiha, angel investor and founder of Womena; Muna Al Gurg, director of retail at Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group; and social entrepreneur Farah Al Qaissieh.

Today, Saab’s magazine, The Light Of Now, released the following mission statement for its philanthropic enterprise: “To spread awareness around the accomplishments and learnings of these ambitious and driven women. A mission to empower the female youth to go further, reach higher, and perhaps become the leaders of tomorrow.” This week’s event is the first installment of a wider initiative that has been bubbling away at Elie Saab HQ.
