Elie Saab Bridal – the three words on every bride-to-be’s lips.
The designer’s new collection features nine wedding gowns and additional accessories to complement the looks (Cue: that bugle bead coated, leaf-covered cape) .
The regal spin witnessed at Saab’s Paris Haute Couture Fall 2017 show is present in the Elie Saab Bridal Fall 2018 collection: think Arabesque with scrolls of leafy detailing.
The silhouettes vary and offer up lots of choice for the bride-to-be on the hunt for that dress. Lingering trails of fabrics, A-line skirts, or fully-loaded tulle gowns offer different outcomes in one small, capsule collection.
If the Saab bride thought she would have to settle for minimalism, she can think again. The nine gowns from the ‘Theater of Light’ Fall 2018 collection are anything but understated. The dresses come complete with appliqué detailing – Saab’s design signature – and sheer fabrics embroidered with bugle beading and reams of sequins. Craftsmanship is at the heart of the Beirut and Paris-based maison, so, as to be expected, the silk organzas and silhouette-loving bustiers in this collection are exceptional. After all, Saab sets the bar high.
The self-taught designer’s initial bridal offering launched in April 2016 to rave reviews. While the Spring 2018 bridal collection, titled ‘In Bloom’, looked to the garden for inspiration, this winter season is full of contemporary elegance. Where there were 13 pieces in the summer collection – including a jumpsuit – here there are nine gowns. And a very confident nine at that.
