The Lebanese designer has once again proven how proficient she is in designing for the modern woman, the one who is bold and empowered and carries within her a certain allure. While the runway at Dubai Design District did see the signature Lama Jouni cutouts this season was also about experimenting with new silhouettes and materials with pops of color for a vibrant Spring/Summer. “For this season I wanted to preserve the element of the cutout, yet I wanted to introduce mesh and some different elements such as the suiting of Lama Jouni, some evening dresses, and some summer sets.”

For Sabrina Mouhieddine of Lili Blanc, creativity is all about celebrating women and so, she designs with every woman in mind. This spirit is what breathes life into her new collection, a series of sophisticated pieces marked by their inspiration from the lily flower. “This collection is basically inspired by the lily flower which for me represents since I was a kid, beauty, light, purity, rebirth, strength, and many other things,” she shared before adding that the flower “always stands for women and celebrating the journey of womanhood and this is the base story behind the collection.”

Weinsanto

Playful as ever, Victor Weinsanto certainly brought the drama and theatrics he is known for to Dubai Fashion Week. While his collection did have some wearable pieces as he celebrated the corset with elements such as lacing on pants and skirts, the show-stopping moment was a campy take on the beloved garment as it extended upwards and past the face in a conical shape making the form-fitting dress reminiscent of a tulip. Another memorable moment at the show was Ameni Esseibi returning to the Weinsanto runway, dressed in a corseted little black dress.
