Dubai Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2024 Kicks Off with Carolina Herrera Presentation

Last night, Dubai Fashion Week SS 2024 finally opened in Dubai Design District with the season’s guest of honor, Carolina Herrera. The first day of the region’s most popular fashion extravaganza was marked by stunning street style, a collection infused with romance, and of course, an insurmountable passion for fashion and creativity as guests such as Sara Sampaio, Rosemin Madhavji, Lana Albeik, and more arrived.

Carolina Herrera’s creative director Wes Gordon took center stage as he presented the SS24 collection in a show marked by the subtle elegance and allure expected of the brand. Models remained perched upon pedestals surrounded by the soft charm of gypsophila and an overwhelmingly pink venue. This was a collection for the modern woman obsessed with clean lines and silhouettes while aching for an old-world elegance characterized by femininity.

Flowing dresses, floral inspirations, some polka dots, and luxe fabrics emerged in a palette evoking the energy of spring with yellows, lilacs, pinks, and neutrals. “This collection was really inspired by clean lines and the silhouettes made famous by women like Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy,” said Gordon. “This idea of a great white cotton shirt and a pencil skirt, but then I mixed into that all the elements of Herrera – color, beautiful embellishments, to add that romance and that femininity.”
