Every day, thousands of people make their way to the du stores across the UAE, and are met with the staff dressed in the telecom company’s signature shade of blue. This is about to change, and for good reason too, as the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC) announces an exclusive competition for Emirati designers to put a fresh spin on the staff uniforms.

As part of the challenge, creatives from the UAE will be tasked to redesign the employees’ attire, with the winning style being rolled out to all du retail stores across the UAE. The winner of the competition will not only make history as the talent behind the first-of-its-kind uniform collection for du, but also receive a cash prize of AED 50,000.

The unique design challenge has been launched in line with du’s longstanding aim to provide opportunities for homegrown talent while uplifting Emirati designers. Created with the goal to inspire optimism and transformation, the new uniforms will also aid du in bringing a fresh approach to its retail stores, and establish the start of a new chapter in the brand’s journey to a digital-first telco.
