Dorra Zarrouk is as close to a real-life Disney Princess as it gets, whether she’s channeling Princess Elena in a red, floor-trailing Labourjoisie gown at the 2018 DIAFAs or evoking Sleeping Beauty with a pink, off-shoulder fairytale creation from Georges Hobeika at the 2018 El Gouna Film Festival. And, the star did it yet again over the weekend in Cairo, where she attended the 2018 Arab Cinema Awards.

Pausing for photographs, the Tunisian beauty, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Comedian Role, had a Cinderella-worthy moment in a baby blue, organza dress with billowing layered sleeves from Laith Maalouf. The Antar Ebn Ebn Ebn Ebn Shadad star reveals that she chose the dress months ago, however, never found the appropriate occasion to wear it until now. “I felt like it was designed for me,” reveals Zarrouk to Vogue.me. “It’s so different, and ultra-feminine. I definitely contemplated wearing it for other occasions, but ultimately decided it was perfect for the ACAs.” Zarrouk played up the ethereal nature of her floor-sweeping, fairytale gown with diamond El Mawardy Jewelry earrings, and an unfussy half-up hairstyle.

Much like Cinderella, Zarrouk’s evening wasn’t without a hitch. “The zipper broke just before the event!” she recounts. However, she was adamant to wear the Jordanian designer’s creation. Thankfully, with the help of her own real-life version of a fairy godmother, the actress managed to get the dress fixed just in time for the red carpet.
