Dolce & Gabbana and many residents of Dubai have at least one thing in common: A deep-rooted love for leopard print. In celebration of this shared passion, the renowned Italian fashion house unveiled an exclusive ready-to-wear collection for both women and men at The Dubai Mall today, November 26. Sporting various renditions of the animalier motif and gold embellishments, the capsule elevates the casual concept of athleisure into a more cosmopolitan one. Matching sets emblazoned with the brand’s logo, whether it be jogging pants and sweatshirts or tank tops and shorts, are paired with sneakers, belt bags, and hats featuring the same pattern, ensuring a wild statement with every last detail of each fierce ensemble.

Close friends of the Arab luxury market for the past few years, Dolce & Gabbana released a Ramadan collection of designer hijabs and abayas in January 2016 as well as a makeup line geared towards local women. Around this time last year, the infamous duo also debuted a 127-look show reflecting influences from the region in Fashion Avenue at the world’s largest mall. Paying homage to the Middle East seems to be a tradition for the label as does understanding and respecting the cultural nuances of the region to avoid appropriating it.

“Coming to Dubai is not just a holiday trip. We want to make the world understand what Dolce & Gabbana is, and offer a personal experience to this region,” Gabbana previously told Vogue Arabia editor-in-chief Manuel Arnaut. “This allows us to have a real conversation with people and understand our clients better. When we do a show in Mexico City or Tokyo, we always include elements of the local culture. We don’t want to colonize anyone.” Dolce added, “It is our obligation as guests. Today, with globalization, all is the same. So why would we come to Dubai if it is not to embrace the emirate? If someone were to come to my village to make a tribute, I would say thank you!”
