10 Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Looks That Captured the Glamor of an Italian Summer

Paris Couture Week is (virtually) in full swing and while we’re avidly keeping up with each larger-than-screen presentation, Dolce & Gabbana are inducing our nostalgia for the unparalleled glamor of an Italian summer escapade. Although the famed Italian kings of couture physically transport us to the most picturesque destinations of their country every summer for their Alta Moda presentations, this year we were front-row at a digital show that still captured the essence of an unforgettable Italian holiday from afar.

Radiant is the word this season with vibrantly-hued ensembles filling the runway in a series of looks each as equally striking as the last. Diaphanous chiffon dresses featuring floral, animal print, and polka dot motifs are the ideal sartorial choice for strolling along the cobblestone paths of Capri with a dramatic swish of the wrist while postcard-reminiscent patterns depicting Italy’s vistas on blouses and jumpsuits are due to be a surefire trademark of the fashion house. Yet, the heroes of the collection may be the sweeping silk kimonos and intricately-embroidered cady kaftans which promise a luxuriously modest way to stay cool this summer, whether we’re lounging by the pool or Lake Como.
