Michael Kors Enlists the Region’s Style Stars to Help Showcase a Middle East Exclusive

It is set to launch later this week, and we’ve just got our first peek at Michael Kors‘s exclusive design for the Middle East. The limited-edition Whitney bag, which will be unveiled at an exclusive event in Dubai on November 14, is a celebration of today’s modern woman, designed to keep pace with a contemporary lifestyle.

Crafted in panel-quilted lambskin, the compact shoulder-bag design is finished with sleek gold-tone hardware and a chain strap, for a refined, polished finish. The special-edition version designed for the region will be released in a rich admiral blue, and has been showcased in a new editorial by some of the Middle East’s sartorial icons. Kors enlisted model and humanitarian Jessica Kahawaty to front the campaign, with the Australian-born star joined by Dubai-based influencer Leena Al Ghouti, fashion blogger Ola Farahat, and filmmaker Lana Al Beik in the portrait series.

Wearing looks from the MICHAEL Michael Kors Holiday 2019 Collection, each bring their own inimitable edge as they style the special-edition Whitney, which Kors himself describes as “a special bag to me”. “We were able to incorporate a very subtle M-shaped outline, something I’ve been sketching since I was in middle school,” the American designer told “To celebrate our customers in Dubai and the reopening of our flagship in The Dubai Mall, we created this special version in ultra-chic, rich blue that we felt was the perfect blend of sophistication and luxury for our customers in the Middle East.”

Designed to house the essentials in a functional yet feminine silhouette, the Whitney is one of the newest accessory staples from the label, with the style first launched this summer. It joins Kors’s extensive collection of ready-to-wear, handbags, and shoes at the expanded Dubai Mall boutique. It’s an important region for Kors, who adds: “Our customers in the Middle East truly love fashion and glamour, which makes it a fun and exciting place to be as a designer.”
