“I’m always impressed with the Maison Pyramide showroom, as it is exciting to see the quality of regional designers participating and the growth of their creative and commercial capacities,” starts Vogue Arabia editor-in-chief Manuel Arnaut. While the showroom routinely showcases numerous regional brands at its impressive display during Paris Fashion Week, it is jumping its showcase to online–a swift reaction to limitations provoked by Covid-19, which maintains regional designers’ drive to sustain what is in most cases pure artisanal craft. “These brands are set to succeed, making the region proud through the representation of Arab design in international fashion weeks,” asserts Arnaut. To help spotlight this showcase further, and in line with Vogue Arabia’s continued focus to promote #BuyArabDesigners, Arnaut has curated his personal edit of Pre-Fall 20-21 pieces from the Maison Pyramide showroom. Among his selects are bags by Egyptian brand Okhtein, featuring artisanal hammering technique and a more recent silhouette, the brown plexi black leather Nazly bag. There are delicate gold-plated earrings with organic pearl accents by Lebanese designer Joanna Laura Constantine; and powerful pendants by Lebanese heritage brand L’Atelier Nawbar featuring jade, onyx, crescent moon and stars. Mariam Al Sibai, who hails from Syria offers a potent zest of orange with a full-length coat, and Vogue Arabia cover star, supermodel Eva Herzigova dons a sensual and chic black full-length double-textured dress by the latest brand to hail from Lebanon Monot. Only a few months ago, Monot delivered an impressive fashion show with the likes of Demi Moore and Cindy Bruna in the front row.
The e-showroom, which is complimentary to Maison Pyramide’s brand roster in support of such exceptional times, is a supporting sales platform that increases the brands’ reach beyond the physical. “It creates new opportunities for our partners as well as reducing our environmental impact throughout such digitized business processes,” confirms Maison Pyramide.
