Georges Hobeika Bridal Dreams Up a Modern Love for Fall 2019

After Princess Eugenie‘s royal wedding over the weekend, we’re still in a romantic mood – which has only been amped up by the unveiling of one regional designer’s latest collection. Georges Hobeika has unveiled his Bridal line for Fall 2019; a feminine and featherlight concoction of ethereal skirts, delicate fabrics, and dainty embellishments.

Entitled “Modern Love”, the Lebanese designer’s line is rich in artisanal touches married with contemporary silhouettes, from a transparent caped creation to a peplumed number with a slouchy off-shoulder cut. The offering doesn’t just include gowns, either, with a pearl-studded suit bringing a certain strength and sharpness to the collection. “The three most important highlights of this collection are the free flow of movement, the variety of depth and transparency, and the richness of varied patterns,” Hobeika reveals to Vogue.me. The designer wanted to create a romance, elegance, and contemporary femininity for the season, which seems well achieved in the enchanting and empowered line.

When it comes to finding your dream gown, Hobeika reveals the cut is key, advising brides-to-be to prioritize color and fit “that perfectly compliment and accentuate her personal style and body structure”. “The first question I ask a bride is, ‘what’s your personal style and how do you envision that style transformed into your wedding gown?'” the couturier adds. “This is the most important question I can ask because it is the foundation of the creative direction I will take. It is the privileged job of the designer to guide the bride to what she wants, especially when she doesn’t even know where to start.”
