Dakota Johnson is in Morocco this week, serving as a member of the jury of the 17th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival, which kicked off on November 30. The Suspira star attended the opening ceremony on Friday night wearing a rose-colored, sequin-encrusted gown from her go-to label, Gucci. The embellished, floor-skimming ensemble featured dazzling, bow-laden straps and a crystal belt detail. She elevated the party-ready look with fringed, diamond earrings from Messika.
During the opening ceremony, the 29-year-old commended the Marrakech International Film Festival for its female representation. “[I was] under the impression that there were almost as many women involved in cinema behind the camera, in front of the camera, behind film festivals and in film festivals,” she said, as per Variety. “This jury happens to have more women and perhaps there might be an avenue for this to occur more often in the future, and I think that’s awesome.”
The next day, Johnson helped honor Robert De Niro, and she made sure to pull out all the stops when it came to her red-carpet attire. The 50 Shades of Grey star exuded glamour in a chocolate-hued, strapless gown from Givenchy. The haute couture dress featured metallic detailing on the bustier, which added a futuristic vibe to the look. A silver waist-nipping belt accentuated her physique, while a peplum detail in the back further outlined her waist.
The actress, who knows how to hit a sartorial home run, attended the Agnes Varda Tribute on day three of the festival, wearing a slinky, slip dress from Ukranian label Bevza. The minimal look, which featured a scoop neck and a body-skimming silhouette, is the eveningwear version of the label’s T-shirt dress from its Spring 2019 collection. She elevated the ensemble with strappy, gold sandals.
The 17th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival runs until December 8, meaning we can expect four more days worth of scene-stealing fashion moments from Johnson.
